Veterinary roles we recruit

Who does your practice
need to hire?

Choose the recruitment service for your vacancy, from a general-practice associate to a specialist or multi-hospital leader.

For Las Vegas veterinary employers

One valley, many jurisdictions.
Specific hospital assignments.

A Downtown Las Vegas associate role, a Henderson medical director search and a Spring Valley specialist appointment need different briefs. Start with the hospital address, jurisdiction, clinical resources and schedule, then agree the search with BEGHR.

Associate veterinarians

Specify independent procedures, appointment capacity and doctor overlap. If recruiting a new graduate, name the mentor and protect teaching time; Nevada allows a graduate awaiting a NAVLE result to register with the Board for one year under direct supervision.

Plan an associate search →

Specialist and emergency appointments

Define the discipline, required credentials, shift pattern and resources already available. Explain referral communication, overnight staffing and inpatient handover, and say whether a veterinarian is on the premises around the clock, which Nevada requires before a facility calls itself 24 hours.

Scope a specialist role →

Medical and regional leadership

List the hospitals and decision authority. Separate clinical workload from protected time for coaching, clinical standards and team development, and say which leader is the veterinarian in charge named on each Board facility permit.

Define a medical director role →

Put the hospital address, jurisdiction and site details in the brief.

Use the actual work address, the city or county town and any additional facilities. Do not present a Boulder City or Pahrump vacancy as interchangeable with a central Las Vegas hospital. A rotating role should state which days belong to which site and whether movement between sites happens between working days or during a clinical shift.

Keep one clear decision process.

Choose the clinical and operational interviewers, confirm the employer-approved package including the wage range Nevada requires employers to share after an interview, and identify who can authorize an offer. Use the same role-related criteria for every candidate and give one person responsibility for feedback. Confirm the candidate’s Nevada license status before a start date is set. Review the hiring brief and candidate scorecard before outreach.

Choose the service that matches the vacancy.

This is permanent placement for employers. Your practice hires the selected candidate directly. An immediate relief shift needs a separate arrangement; this service does not promise a locum available today. Job seekers can start with BEGHR’s veterinary placement page; the pricing form here is for employer inquiries.

Las Vegas veterinary hiring context for employers

The Nevada State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners states that it licenses veterinarians, veterinary technicians and veterinary facilities, and NAC 638.041 requires a veterinarian to complete at least 40 hours of Board-approved continuing education in the 24 months before each renewal, no more than 20 of them by distance learning, with 20 hours for a licensed veterinary technician. The Board’s application instructions require an AVMA-accredited degree or an ECFVG certificate, a passing NAVLE score reported by AAVSB, letters of good standing from every jurisdiction that has licensed the applicant and a score of at least 90 percent on the Nevada State Jurisprudence Examination, and its FAQ says Nevada has no reciprocity agreement with any state, so most licensees are licensed by endorsement. NRS 638.127 sets renewal on or before May 15 of each odd-numbered year with forfeiture after August 31, and the Board’s FAQ says licenses expire June 30 of each odd-numbered year. The College of Southern Nevada states that its AVMA-accredited Veterinary Nursing associate degree prepares graduates for the VTNE and then the Nevada technician exam. O*NET OnLine, citing Bureau of Labor Statistics 2025 wage data, lists a median annual wage for veterinarians in the Las Vegas-Henderson-North Las Vegas area close to the Nevada median and below the national median, while the area median for veterinary technicians sits above both the state and national medians. The same state rules apply to every Las Vegas employer, so confirm them before the Las Vegas search starts.

  • Continuing education support: NAC 638.041 requires 40 hours every 24 months and the Board’s continuing education page says at least half must be in person or live, so state the paid time and course costs the practice covers.
  • Licensing and start date: the Board emails jurisprudence exam instructions only after the other application components arrive and says it aims to mail a completed license within 3 to 5 business days, so keep the start date separate from the license date.
  • Technician delegation: NAC 638.053 and NAC 638.057 define the tasks a licensed veterinary technician may perform under each level of supervision and make the supervising veterinarian responsible for competency, so list the delegated tasks and the supervising doctor by shift.
  • Facility permit: NAC 638.0603 requires a Board permit and a Nevada-licensed veterinarian in charge for every veterinary facility, so name that person and the entity that issues the offer.
  • Hospital type: NAC 638.069 restricts the term 24 hours to facilities with a veterinarian on the premises around the clock, so say whether the role sits in general practice, overnight emergency or specialty referral.

Market context is attributed to Nevada State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, Nevada Board FAQ, Nevada Board forms and application requirements, Nevada veterinarian license application instructions, Nevada Board continuing education page, Nevada Board mission and members, NAC Chapter 638 (Nevada Legislature), NRS Chapter 638 (Nevada Legislature), NRS Chapter 613 (employment practices), NRS Chapter 608 (compensation, wages and hours), NAC Chapter 441A (rabies certificates), College of Southern Nevada Veterinary Nursing AAS, O*NET OnLine veterinarian wages by area, O*NET OnLine veterinary technician wages by area, O*NET OnLine veterinary assistant wages by area, Census Bureau 2025 Gazetteer, Nevada places and Clark County Town Advisory Boards and Citizens Advisory Councils. These are third-party and state sources, not BEGHR claims.

Plan Nevada credential checks before the start date.

Use the Nevada State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners licensee and facility lookup for the relevant professional record. Nevada licenses veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians and veterinary facilities through the Nevada State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, whose consumer page links its Find a Licensee or Veterinary Facility search. Assign a person to verify license status and the expiration date, record the verification date and resolve questions with the Board. Check any additional specialty credentials required by the employer with the issuing organization.

For a candidate moving from another state, review the Nevada veterinary license applications, instructions and requirements. Do not treat an out-of-state license or a preferred start date as confirmation that Nevada requirements are satisfied. The Board says Nevada has no reciprocity agreement with any state; an applicant must pass the Nevada State Jurisprudence Examination with at least 90 percent, provide letters of good standing from every jurisdiction that has licensed them, and meet the NAVLE and practice-history rules in NAC 638.0435 and NAC 638.04355. The Board determines eligibility and timing; BEGHR does not issue licenses.

For continuing education, renewal and practice rules, see the Board’s continuing education page and Nevada Administrative Code Chapter 638 and the Board’s FAQ.

Veterinary recruitment coverage

Las Vegas and
surrounding communities.

A Las Vegas veterinary search works best when the hospital address comes before the city label. The City of Las Vegas, the cities of Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City and Mesquite, and unincorporated towns such as Paradise, Spring Valley and Enterprise that Clark County administers are different workplaces under different local governments, and Pahrump sits in Nye County. Business Executive Group uses the employer’s role, schedule and location to scope a permanent search.

Name the street address, the municipality or county town and the county, and geocode any address with a Las Vegas mailing name, because Paradise, Winchester, Spring Valley, Enterprise, Sunrise Manor, Whitney, Summerlin South and Lone Mountain all use Las Vegas mail while sitting in unincorporated Clark County. Laughlin lies at the Arizona and California lines and Mesquite near the Arizona and Utah lines. Coverage on this site is limited to Nevada; a hospital in another state falls under a different licensing authority.

Central Las Vegas

The City of Las Vegas is an incorporated city in Clark County with about 142 square miles of land in the Census Bureau’s 2025 Gazetteer, and its downtown page names the 18b Las Vegas Arts District and the Fremont East Entertainment District. Unincorporated towns such as Paradise and Winchester adjoin the city and also use Las Vegas mailing addresses, so a Las Vegas address alone does not show which government the hospital sits under. Give the street address and say whether the site is inside the city or in a county town.

Unincorporated towns, central valley

Paradise and Winchester are unincorporated towns administered by Clark County near the center of the Las Vegas Valley, and the county’s planning page describes Winchester/Paradise as one 47 square mile planning area with separate Town Advisory Boards. Mail for both says Las Vegas. State the town and the street address so a candidate knows the hospital is under county, not city, jurisdiction.

Unincorporated towns, west and southwest valley

Spring Valley and Enterprise are unincorporated towns administered by Clark County. The county lists Spring Valley in the western part of the valley at 36 square miles and Enterprise in the southwest at 67 square miles, the largest of the valley towns. Name the town and the address, and list any second site in the City of Las Vegas or Henderson separately.

Unincorporated towns, east valley

Sunrise Manor and Whitney are unincorporated towns administered by Clark County on the east side of the valley, Sunrise Manor at 46 square miles in the northeast and Whitney at 22 square miles to the east. Both border incorporated cities, so state the town and address rather than a general east-side label.

Northwest and west valley

Summerlin South is an unincorporated town administered by Clark County in the western valley at 10 square miles, and Lone Mountain is an unincorporated town in the northwest at 30 square miles with a Citizens Advisory Council. Centennial Hills is a City of Las Vegas sector plan area of about 56 square miles in the northwest, and the city’s plan says parts of it stay unincorporated under an interlocal agreement with Clark County. A Summerlin or Centennial Hills address can fall inside the City of Las Vegas or inside a county town, so geocode the hospital address before writing the brief.

Henderson

Henderson is an incorporated city in Clark County with about 121 square miles of land in the Census Bureau’s 2025 Gazetteer and its own municipal government. It is a separate jurisdiction from the City of Las Vegas and from the county towns, so a Henderson hospital gets its own brief with its own address.

North Las Vegas

North Las Vegas is an incorporated city in Clark County with about 105 square miles of land in the Census Bureau’s 2025 Gazetteer. It is a separate city from Las Vegas, and Sunrise Manor and Lone Mountain are county towns beside it, so state the city and the street address for each site.

Boulder City and Mesquite

Boulder City and Mesquite are separate incorporated cities in Clark County. The Census Bureau lists Boulder City with about 212 square miles of land, the largest of the county’s five cities, and Mesquite with about 32 square miles near the Arizona and Utah lines. Each city runs its own animal control through its police department, and each hospital belongs in its own brief.

Outlying Clark County

Laughlin is an unincorporated town administered by Clark County at the southern tip of the county on the Colorado River, where the county’s planning page places the meeting point of San Bernardino County, California, Mohave County, Arizona, and Clark County. Moapa Valley sits in the county’s Northeast County planning area with Logandale, Overton, Moapa and Bunkerville. Only the Nevada side of either area is covered here.

Nye County

Pahrump is a census designated place in Nye County, not Clark County, with about 329 square miles of land in the Census Bureau’s 2025 Gazetteer. Nye County Animal Services enforces the county’s own animal code there. The Nevada State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners licenses the hospital and the doctors in Pahrump exactly as it does in the valley.

Employer questions

Veterinary recruiting questions

Which veterinary positions can Las Vegas employers recruit through BEGHR?

The service covers permanent associate veterinarians, veterinary specialists, emergency DVMs, surgery appointments, medical directors and regional veterinary leaders. Search fit depends on the role, clinical requirements and employer brief. The practice makes the final hiring decision.

Is this for employers hiring veterinarians or for job applications?

This website is for practice owners and employer hiring teams seeking permanent veterinary staff. Its form requests a hiring brief and returns a placement estimate after employer opt-in. It is not an open-jobs directory or a candidate application form.

How does milestone billing work?

Agree the role, estimated fee range, billable milestones and payment terms before the search begins. Recruiting uses an hourly, pay-as-you-go model within the agreed range. BEGHR’s published placement process starts billing after applicants are sent. Invoices follow the agreed cadence, at least monthly during billable service delivery. BEGHR handles client billing and account questions.

Do we pay if a search does not result in a hire?

Milestone billing pays for agreed work as the search progresses, so completed billable milestones may still be payable without a placement. Your client agreement specifies the billing triggers, amounts, due dates and any cancellation terms.

Where can we see our placement price?

Select your role, complete the hiring questions and submit your employer contact details through the pricing form to receive an estimated fee range. BEGHR confirms the role classification, final fee and payment milestones before you engage the service.

How long does placement take?

BEGHR’s placement timeframe is 23–55 days. Timing depends on the role, candidate availability and the employer’s hiring process.

How does BEGHR pricing compare with contingency recruiting?

BEGHR offers placement at typically 50% less than contingency recruiting and 50% off second and subsequent hires for the same role. Use the pricing form for an estimate and confirm your fee and repeat-hire eligibility before starting.

What fill rate does BEGHR report?

BEGHR reports 86% fill rate on active searches across its placement service. This provider-wide figure is not a city-specific or veterinary-only result and does not guarantee an individual hiring outcome.

Who receives my employer inquiry?

Business Executive Group receives your contact information, selected roles, qualification answers, placement estimate and the originating website and page through its existing BEGHR lead intake. This is an employer inquiry, not a candidate job application.

How are placement fees confirmed?

The instant-pricing form uses BEGHR’s role categories and current retail ranges to show an estimate after you submit your employer details. The provider confirms the actual category, scope, payment milestones and commercial terms before a search engagement begins.
